Obedience

“He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing!” John 9:7

For you to get to where God wants to take you, for you to eat the good of the land, you must not only obey, you must submit. Total submission and obedience because God looks at the heart. God’s Word says, if you are willing to obey, you will eat the good of the land. I pray you eat the good of the land in Jesus Name. This means you will be obedient and you will be submissive. The issue of submission is really a problem with marriages and relationships. Interestingly, it is not much of an issue in other areas.

What does the Bible say about marriage and submission? People are quick to say, “wives submit to your husbands” but that is just a part and not all of it. If you back up a little bit, God says, “submitting one to another”. Then He said, “wives submit to your husbands”, then He says “husbands love your wives”. If you take husband love your wives outside of wives submit to your husbands, and submit one to another, it will not work. If you take, wives submit to your husband outside of husband love your wives, and submit one to another, it will not work. For it to work, the husband will love his wife, the wife will submit to her husband, and they will submit one to another. And to submit is to willingly allow the other person do as he or she pleases.

How did the man in John 9 obey? Jesus told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool…”. This same Jesus had just messed up his face. Meaning, if people would have been willing to help him before, now they will not want to come near him because of the way he looked. But Jesus said, go wash and the man foolishly obeyed. It is clear from scripture that the pool was not near where they were. I know because when they asked who healed him, if Jesus was standing there he would simply point to Him. But the man said I don’t know where He is. It wasn’t that Jesus left the place but he left the place to go and wash. So how did he get to the pool? Someone must have shown him favour and helped him. In spite of how dark and bleak it seems, if God says go, just go because favour and help will be waiting for you.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, teach me obedience and true submission, in Jesus Name.
