Take The Stand I

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” 1Jn.4:18  [NIV, emphasis added]

There can be no transformation without confrontation. I know we all have different personalities but have you noticed that some people like working hard and some do not.? Some students like reading their books but some students do not. Does that change the fact that they are all going to take the same exams? Life does not differentiate. You need to learn the
life skills you need regardless of your personality and Stand Tall.

For those of you that have been enduring abuse, let me take this opportunity on behalf of all men to apologies for putting you through that much pain. If he or she apologizes, accept the apology and forgive him or her sincerely from your heart. But you still need to confront the abuse and the abuser. You cannot continue to excuse the abuse! A lady came to see me and she was wearing very dark glasses, you know what that means. And guess what? She was still defending her husband, “It is not his fault, his father was very violent…”. I pray he does not kill you but if he does, he would not be the first. He will just go ahead and marry another woman.

A lot of people do not want to hear this truth but it is my responsibility to tell the unpopular truth. Like it or not but this abuse will not continue. As long as you continue to enable the dysfunction, it will continue. Yes he has apologized and yes he had a rough past but there can be no transformation without confrontation. You confront him and let him confront himself. So what must be done? Stand Tall and confront the abuse. What if things go out of hand? Sometimes, things go bad before they get better.

Am I saying confrontation is easy? Of course not. Even for someone like me who may not have a problem confronting anybody, confrontation is never easy. Confrontation is always tough, I know that, but there cannot be freedom without it. And I chose to be free. I urge you to take that step too, chose to be free. It may not be physical abuse you need to confront. It may be yourself you need to confront in order to shape up for what God has for you. Prayerfully confront the things that need to be confronted in your life so that your transformation can begin.

Prayer: Lord, please give me the strength to confront that which needs to be confronted in my life so that my transformation can begin, in Jesus Name
