Always Audacity!
“Then at last the Lord said to me, ‘You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn to the north. Deu.2:2-3
Principle of The Offensive can only be ignited with audacity. You cannot be on the offensive if you are not courageous. You need courage. Fredrick the Great puts it this way, “L’audace, l’audace, et toujours l’audace” [translation: Audacity, audacity, and always audacity]. You need to put this statement in front of you, see it before you sleep and when you get up before you go out, see it again. “Audacity, audacity, and always audacity”. Courage is always expressed in the willingness to go forward. God is saying to you, go forward. Attack! You have been round this mountain long enough.
The military will tell you that the most essential quality of a general will always be courage. Who is the general of your life? You are. You must have active courage. For instance, my spiritual son called me one day and was lamenting. What was his issue? There was this girl he wanted to marry and the girl really liked him. They had a good relationship but every time he goes to see her, they would sit on a table and play board games. The girl kept waiting for him to take the relationship to the next level but he did not. Long story short, some other man that the girl also liked but not as much as she liked my son, came and attacked, pestered her, bought her roses, took her out. She was reluctant initially, hoping my son would step up. But the other man bamboozled her with love and she committed to him. Then my son called me and was asking me what he should do. I was upset; I said, “Who is your father? You cannot tell a lady your intentions”? He said when he is with her he gets tongue-tied. I said let that tongue be untied and woo that girl, in Jesus Name. Come on, you are frustrating the girl. Just tell her your heart; you will not die.
Active courage is a part of courage. Every war general must also have moral courage – the ability to control yourself. The ability to say no to excesses and walk away from things that are enticing. It will save your life. “A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls” Prov.25:28. Anyone and anything can attack you but you must have the courage to say no to pornography, stealing, lying and anything that will defile you.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please grow me in active and moral courage, in Jesus Name.
