One Person In-charge

“But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Gen. 11:5-6

We are still learning about the principles of war because God has said we will have victory and so we need to be prepared for battle. All the principles are key to victory and they all work together. The Principle of Unity of Command however is a very crucial principle for victory. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Gen. 11:6 [emphasis added].

Where there is unity of command nothing is impossible. When a home is united and they all speak the same language, nothing will be impossible. When a business is united and they all speak the same language, nothing will be impossible. When a church is united and they all speak the same language, nothing will be impossible. When an individual is united and is speaking the same language, what is going on within is what is going on without, then nothing will be impossible.

So if you were the enemy, what will you try to do? To cause division; you bring di-vision. Introduce fantastic ideas that do not line up with the vision. There are some people in our lives that cooperate so much with the enemy. You have to identify those people and ostracize them. The only way to deal with a cancerous cell is to cut it off or to kill it. Napoleon, the great war general said, “Nothing is so important in war as an undivided command: for this reason, when war is carried on against a single power, there should be only one army, acting upon one base, and conducted by one chief”.

The Principle of Unity of Command states that for every objective, ensure unity of effort under one responsible commander. So the key to unity of command is simple; one person in charge. If you check, you will discover that is how God works. He puts one person in charge in the family; the husband is the head of his wife. And his headship is not dependent on his intelligence or state of his bank account. God said the husband is the head of his wife and that is how it works. A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand [Mark 3: 24-25].

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask that You will unite my family under the command of the head of our home even as he follows God, in Jesus Name.
