Unity

Eph.4:2-3 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.”

Yesterday, we looked at two of the three predominant themes in Jesus’ prayer. Jesus prayed for Protection, Jesus prayed for Glory and thirdly for Unity. Jesus prayed for unity. Jn.17:21, 23I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you… I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.” (emphasis added). Read the rest of this entry

The Mirror

John 4:7&9 “Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans…”

Why did the Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans? We began to answer this question yesterday and it will interest you to know that the enmity ran even deeper. We mentioned earlier that at the time John the Baptist and Jesus were in ministry there was a huge Rabbinic movement. Read the rest of this entry

Togetherness

Eph.4:3 “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.” (emphasis added)

Note, we are not making an effort to create unity. Unity is created by the Spirit of God. But we are to make every effort to keep the unity that has been created by the Spirit of God. Read the rest of this entry

Community

Heb.10:25 (ERV) “We must not quit meeting together, as some are doing. No, we need to keep on encouraging each other. This becomes more and more important as you see the Day getting closer.”

Losing one’s joy is usually the beginning of backsliding. The first thing the enemy attacks is joy. Almost all the cases of backsliding amongst people that I know started with loss of joy. Read the rest of this entry

Two-gather

“Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” Amos 3:3

The Principle of Concerted Action simply states: Unify and bring all elements of your force to work together simultaneously in the achievement of your aims. Unify all the elements of your force and bring them together simultaneously. Bring your forces together and unify the coordination. Let things work in tandem with each other. You might be wondering how this can apply in your life. Well, ensure you come with a journal to Read the rest of this entry

Engage It

“This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare” 1 Tim.1:18 [NKJV]

What has God said to you this year? Keep it before you because if you do not engage the Word, you will not get the full benefit of that Word. The Word of God says that we should wage a good warfare with the prophecies that have been said over us [paraphrased]. So it is one thing to have a prophecy and it is another thing to engage the prophecy. And one of the key things to engaging the Word is thorough understanding of how that Word can be applied. His Command

“‘Well done!’ the king exclaimed. ‘You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’ Luke 19:17

What instruction has God given you that is outstanding? Who do you need to forgive but you have not moved in that direction? What has God told you to give but you are still holding unto? Perhaps God is telling you to give your car to a lady in church. Give her the car. For some of us it is repentance. What do you need to Read the rest of this entry

Unite, Obey and Align

“But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Gen. 11:5-6

God always puts one person in charge and in marriage it is the same thing. I know that God has given us intelligent wives. God bless our wives. But ladies, never marry a man that you do not respect. Do not marry a man that when push comes to shove, even if you do not understand what he is saying, you do not respect him enough to obey and align. Do not marry him or you are headed for Read the rest of this entry

Unity Of Command

A kingdom divided against itself will collapse. A home filled with strife and division destroys itselfMk.3:24-25 [LB].

The Principle of Unity of Command states that for every objective, ensure unity of effort under one responsible commander. Hence, the key to unity of command is one person in charge.
