How It Works

“I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work” Jn.9:4

I need you to sit with yourself and come up with a ‘completely true to self’ answer to this question: what exactly are you waiting for? You have been engaged to that lady for so long, what are you waiting for? Get married! Some men will tell you they want to build a mansion first or at least have two cars. You have laid out the business plan and gone over it several times, what are you still waiting for? Just start the business. God has spoken to you and given you clear instructions, what are you waiting for? Obey God!

You have been in church all this time just warming the pews, what are you waiting for? Start serving! You know you need to surrender to Jesus, what are you waiting for? Just surrender to Jesus and He will take it from there. Take time out today and have the conversation with yourself. Will it be tough? Of course! Confrontation is never easy but it is so that you can enter into your destiny. Get the delay out of the way and exploit the situation to the glory of God.

What are the four major things that keep us from taking action and from exploiting the situation to the glory of God and to our own advantage? The first is Procrastination. There are people that are perpetually pushing things they need to action on to tomorrow. Have you heard the statement tomorrow never comes? Because once the day rolls over it tomorrow becomes today so you are looking forward to the new tomorrow. The problem is that many people have procrastinated their destinies; they have pushed it down the line. Just do it! So you need to understand the characteristics of opportunities and the nature of openings. There are three characteristics of openings that I want to bring to focus:

#1. Opportunities multiply as they are seized. Everybody that has done anything great knows that many times all you see is an opening. But as you seize that opening, more doors open. It is as if multiplication just happens. Unfortunately, a lot of people are waiting for the big doors to open but God is saying it does not work like that. You need to seize the open doors then as you are walking into those doors, the bigger doors will open.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please help me eliminate delays and procrastination. Help me to exploit every opportunity to the glory of God alone, in Jesus Name.
