“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]” Ps.91:1 [AMP]

Keep your mouth shut! What a way to start today’s devotional right? Surprise! When God gives you an idea, He expects that you incubate the idea. As you incubate the idea, you are generating spiritual power to birth the idea. Keep your mouth shut! Sometimes it is just one particular person, even if you do not tell anybody else, once you tell that person the idea will not see the light of day. Many of you have such people in your lives; so why do you keep talking to them? Every hold they have on you is broken now, in Jesus Name. Keep your mouth shut! There is this folk tale about Alade, a very wealthy man in the village. But Alade had horns so he used to wear a big cap to cover it up.

Alade had a friend that he thought was close enough to reveal his secret. So he took his friend to a secluded place, took off his cap and showed his friend his secret. His friend unfortunately, could not contain what he had seen. He had to tell someone; Alade’s secret was burning like a fire in his belly. So in order to stay loyal, he ran to an empty cave and shouted ‘Alade has horns!’ Phew! He felt relief and no one heard, so everything was good. Or so he thought. A tree grew out of that cave and the wood from that tree was used to make flutes for children. Whenever the children played the flute, the only tune that came out was ‘Alade has horns’. So everyone in the village found out about Alade’s secret. It was unbearable for Alade so he killed himself.

Keep your mouth shut! Every strong man has a secret – something he has not disclosed. There are things that are only known to God and me. There is no human being on earth that knows those things, not even my wife, as close as I am with her. If you know me, you would know that I am totally transparent with my wife but she does not know those things. It is between God and me. I have heard all sorts of theories about the secret of “my power”. Some say it is prayer while others say it is evangelism. I just laugh. There are levels of consecration that I have with God. There are things, for instance, that other Pastors can do, that I cannot even try because I will be in trouble. Consecration!

Prayer [song]: I was born to be God’s dwelling place. A home for the Presence of my King. So let my life now be consecrated unto Thee. That I may be what I was born to be… Amen!
