To Yourself
“Then Delilah pouted, “How can you tell me, ‘I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!” Judges16:15
You need to realize that what makes you who God has made you to be is that your special source. Everybody has it. But sadly, some people’s own is everywhere because they have spoken about it to everyone. Keep it to yourself. Samson was a strong man. He had a secret but he had a girl in his life – Delilah, who consistently asked him to tell her his secret.
In my opinion, Samson was a very foolish boy. You are dating a girl and she says tell me your secret so I can kill you. You gave her false information and she actually plotted to kill you. But because of that secret you did not show her, you were able to overpower all the enemies. And you are still dating her? When she tried again, you told her something else. And the third time she became angry and gave you an attitude ‘How can you say you love me when you have not told me how to kill you’ [paraphrased]. Does that make sense? But Samson kept playing with fire. Stop playing with fire! Samson kept playing with fire until, the Bible says, Delilah vexed him. For every Samson there is an ordained Delilah. I feel this message is for someone reading this today. Do not let Delilah terminate your destiny.
I was at the bedside of someone very dear to me. And he said to me, “I should have kept my secret, secret”. My heart tore. They got him because he thought everybody around him loved him. And he opened his treasury to everybody and they used his secrets against him. Human beings are wicked. Look, you do not even have a clue. I have made up my mind that before they shoot at me I would have shot them first by God’s grace. Yes! I’m determined to do it. Do not jeopardize your destiny.
The God that we serve is a God of surprises. God always brings up good surprises for his children. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” Eph3:20 [ASV. Bad surprises for His enemies, “At the very moment they began to sing and give praise, the Lord caused the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir to start fighting among themselves” 2Chro.20:22. God is a Master of surprises.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, place a guard over my mouth so that my life and what You are doing in it and with it, will come as a surprise to many for Your glory, in Jesus Name.
