Address It
“The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:31 [emphasis added].
#2. A High Level of Self-Esteem- to unlock concerted action, you must have a very high self-esteem and this is so important. I study great people, great men and women- that is one of my interests. And one huge thing I have seen is that great men and women like themselves and they respect themselves. It is amazing how comfortable they are in their own skin. And because they like and respect themselves, they are able to like and respect other people.
Remember, you cannot give what you do not have. If you hate yourself, you are going to hate other people. If you stand in front of the mirror and you do not like who you see, it is going to flow into your relationships. In fact, it is in the Bible. Jesus was asked- Tell us what the greatest commandment is. Jesus said the greatest commandment is love the Lord your God, with all your strength, with all your might and with all your soul. This is the first and He goes on to say, “The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12:31 [emphasis added]. Equally important? Wow! And Jesus says no other commandment is greater than these. Amazing!
Love your neighbor as yourself; you cannot love anybody more than you love yourself. People that love people easily, are people that have come to know who they are in God and love themselves. Hurting people hurt people but loving people love people. If all you do in your relationships is pull people down and scar people, you are to be pitied because it shows that you are far from the path to greatness.
Great men always lift people up; small men always pull people down. If your children, your neighbor, your spouse and the other people you have relationships with, are always avoiding you because all you do is tear them down, it shows that you have a very low self-esteem and you need to address it. How do you address it? Take it to God. You need to see yourself as God sees you. You need to embrace God’s love for you and become all that God has for you. Then it will overflow in your other relationships.
Prayer: My Maker, I come to You asking You to help me see myself as You see me. Help me to fully accept and embrace Your Love for me, in Jesus Name.
