Be Observant
“Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?” Matt.9:4
And many times when you let yourself into what God is thinking about your life and about your business, inevitably people can think something is wrong with you. I was listening to a podcast sometime ago and the host was saying that “If everyone thinks you’re strange, take heart. It may just mean you’re years ahead of your time” –Spartan Podcast. And there are many people reading this, people think you are strange but do not worry.
You are just years ahead of your time. I am used to that any way. You need to get used to it. Get comfortable in the abundance that God has for you positionaly. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” Jn.10:10 [KJV]. Jesus says His heart for you is not just that you have life but you have it more abundantly.
“The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance” Jn.10:10 [Voice]. Intention is key in any relationship. It is more important to know the intention of a gift than to receive the gift. The intention behind a gift is more important than the gift. You need to understand that intentions determine actions but actions can camouflage intentions easily. So the fact that someone is behaving nicely to you, does not mean they have good intentions. Jesus knew the hearts of men and many times He would tell people what is in their hearts. Scripture says because He knew the hearts of men He did not commit Himself to people.
To some people, Jesus said, you are calling Me Lord, but your heart it far from Me. He could tell. Can you tell the people whose hearts are with you or the people whose hearts are far from you? The ability to discern this is the beginning of your deliverance. No matter how good someone appears to be, if his or her intention is to hurt you, guess what? He or she will not stop until he or she hurts you. So intention always prevails no matter the current experience.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, let it please You to reveal the hearts of the people around me to me. I pray Lord that You will also reveal me to me, in Jesus Name.
