Overflow III

And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truthEx.34:6 [emphasis added].

God wants you to know that His goodness is without limits [inexhaustible]. Our challenge as human beings is that we get satisfied too easily. You prayed and God answered by doing beyond what you could ever think or imagine. What happens is that a lot of people just relax and become complacent. We do not seek after God any more or hunger for more. And that is a problem because God still has a lot more for us and we have to press into it.

The question you and I need to wrestle with today is, can you take more or are you satisfied? Have you ever experienced having a huge meal that ought to satisfy you but after you are done you find yourself still wanting more? When I was growing up, that used to happen to me quite frequently. In fact my brothers and I would sometimes sit at the dinner table echoing, ‘we want more, we want more, we want more…’.

What am I saying? As a church, God has done great things and He is doing awesome things in our midst, but guess what? We want more! We are spiritual ‘Oliver Twists’, we still want more, Lord. Yes we have seen God do amazing miracles, save a lot of people, people have experienced breakthroughs, and we have seen healing. But God of heaven, we want more! This is our song to God; we choose not to be satisfied because we know that He has abundance lined up for us. God has abundance lined up for you and you have not seen anything yet.

There is so much that God has in store. Have a relentless soul for more of God; more of what God wants to do with us in this generation. You have not seen anything yet, so do not get complacent. “And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the vale, for abundance1Kings10:27 [emphasis added]. I say to entrepreneurs, you are in the business already so why not just think big? I know there is a place for little beginnings. You can start small but do not stay small. Start small but think big. Someone said, “Go big or go home”. Do not get complacent; there is always more in God. Hunger for it, push for more, let your song be that you want more.

Prayer: Father, help me not to become complacent but to desire and strive for the abundance You have for me spiritually and physically, in Jesus Name.
