Final Say

“How great is Your goodness!  You have stored it up for those who honor You.  You do good things for those who trust You.”  Ps.31:19 [ICB, emphasis added]

Do not despair, focus on God. When the enemy wants to push you and make you depressed or the situation actually looks depressing, think about the goodness of your God. Thinking about God’s goodness goes beyond what He has done to who He is. God is not good because he has done a good thing. Yes He has done good things, but He is good because He is good and that is who He is. So focus on the nature of God. David said, “How great is Your goodness!  …You do good things for those who trust You.”  We have a lot to learn from David.

There is a man in the Bible called Joseph. Joseph had a dream that his brothers were bowing to him. And he was not wise enough to know that you do not tell that sort of dream to the brothers that you saw, no matter how spiritual they are. But he was young and he did not know any better. And then he had a similar dream and he mouthed it off to his brothers again. By this time his brothers had become upset with him and they said, behold the dreamer, we will kill him and we will see what will become of the dreams. The attacks you are getting are not because of you but they are because of what you will become.

For some of us, when we look at our situations side by side the problems we are facing, the only word that describes it is, unfair. Have you ever felt that way? It is because of the dream and the attacks are the enemy’s way of saying we will see what will become of the dream. Few years ago, I was sure I was done with ministry and the plan was to go and do a Ph.D. Why? Because the enemy said, we will see what will become of his dreams. But God said, no, go back and start God’s Favourite House and we will see.

Now if God says, we will see what will become of the dream and the enemy says we will see what will become of the dream, whose words are more powerful? So Joseph was sold into slavery, went into prison and he was still faithful. Then suddenly God promoted him to the prime minister of Egypt, the world power at the time. Israel needed to come under the providing power of Egypt and Joseph’s brothers indeed saw what became of his dreams. The dream was fulfilled!

Prayer: Lord, how great is Your goodness stored up for those who honor You. You do good things for those who trust You and my case will not be different, in Jesus Name.
