God’s Standard

“Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body” 1 Cor.6:18

God wants us to think clearly about sex. No body knows more about sex than God Himself because He invented it. “God wants you to be pure and to keep clear of all sexual sin…” 1 Thes.4:3 [LB, emphasis added]. During sexual intercourse, there is a spiritual exchange. Let me explain – if Lucy is carrying curses and has sexual intercourse with Lucas, the demons that have access to Lucy now has access to Lucas. Now Lucas is a young business-man with consistent bright ideas, was doing well in his business. After he sleeps with Lucy, he cannot explain why but he begins to struggle and is uncoordinated.

It is because the demons that had access to Lucy now have access to him. For such people, usually in their confusion, they go to sleep with somebody else thereby compounding their already complex issues. So Lucas is now struggling with Lucy’s demons, mixed up with Jane’s demons, and Violet’s too. I pray that for all of us reading this today, that God will lead us beside still waters and He will restore every soul that has been fragmented, in Jesus Name.

God’s standard is very clear and it has never changed. What is God’s standard? God’s standard is sex is only between a wife and her husband committed to each other in marriage. God designed sex and He knows within marriage is where it will function best. Every sexual activity outside of God’s standard will always lead to guilt, to shame, to the feeling of uncleanness, to reproach, to curses and all sorts of things. Sex outside marriage is not worth it. God wants you to be happy but He wants you to be happy where He has designed you to be happy.

If you are walking around in a zoo and you see a sign that reads, “Danger: hungry lions, do not cross”. Do you get angry with the person that put the sign there? In fact, you should be grateful. And if you have some sense, you will quickly turn and head the other way and not stand there, taking pictures. However, that is what people are doing these days. They do not like the Pastors that tell them the truth. God wants you to be happy and He wants your happiness to endure.

Thought: Sex is a gift from God that can only be opened in marriage.
