1 Kings 3:3-5 Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David… so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings. That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”

I was talking to a little girl and our conversation touched on the subject of crying. So I asked her if she ever heard an adult cry, and she said yes. So I asked who? And she said her father. So I kind of mentally tried to prepare myself for what would come next. Then I asked her who? And she said, “My Dad!” I asked again, “You’ve seen your Dad cry?” She said, “yes!” Why, what happened? I asked. And she said, “My dad cries sometimes when he is praying and when he is worshiping.” She is a little girl but such a thing registered in her memory. And I said to myself, “that is a man that loves God”. News flash! – Your children are watching you and they are watching you very closely. So yes, God loves everybody, but God’s response to that man will be very different.

Going over and above for God, triggers a different response. Love is the base line. We respond to God differently and based on our different responses, God responds again. Then we respond again, and God responds again – It is like a chain reaction. Giving over and above is a similar thing – It provokes a chain reaction. For instance, when you pay tithe at ten percent, praise God! But if and when you’re paying your tithe, you decide you’ll give Governors of Wealth seeds instead – you are going over and above and, it will provoke a chain reaction.

Favour is your portion in the Mighty Name of Jesus. You can control the favour that flows to you with your speed, your strength, your wisdom, your skill, and your education. Then you can also provoke favour from God by your petition and by pleasing God [touching His heart].

Solomon went above and beyond in his giving. And when Solomon was sleeping, God came to him. Some people are busy keeping vigils to get God’s attention. But God was keeping a vigil to get Solomon’s attention so to speak. Which category do you want to fall into? Solomon touched something in God’s heart and God had to respond. That is how relationships are formed; response begets response. Make up your mind not to be at variance with God but rather, to be in relationship with Him.

Prayer: Father, show me what I must do to get Your attention daily, in Jesus Name.
