Let Go!

Eze.36:11 I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” [NKJV]

If you are ever in doubt as to what you are truly worth, look at Jesus because He is the picture of the value God puts on you. The clay derives it worth from the potter. A lot of us are tempted to think our worth increases when we perform and we are successful. We are tempted to think that when we fail and our performance drops, our worth also decreases.  But the truth is that your success does not increase your worth and your failure does not decrease your worth. Your worth in God is the priceless Blood of Jesus. There is nothing, absolutely nothing you can do to make that sacrifice better. It is completely perfect. You need to start each day with this truth before you; it makes a world of difference.

Ezra 3:12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. 13 The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance [emphasis added]. Why were they weeping? The Bible does not tell us explicitly why they were weeping. Were these tears of joy, repentance, excitement, or tears of regret? I think they cried because of regret; because they had seen the temple of Solomon in its beauty. They knew what went into the temple of Solomon, David’s life-

savings, Solomon’s wealth, and the resources that came from everywhere [north, south, east and west] to build that temple. They saw that in comparison to the handouts they had been given by the neighboring kings to lay the new foundation and they wept.

You may look at your life, look at yesterday and weep. But like He said to these elders, God is saying to you, let yesterday go, your tomorrow will be greater than yesterday. As tough as it may be, you have to let go of yesterday if you want to move forward. You cannot go forward if you keep holding on to the pains of yesterday. God is saying you need to let it go.

Thought: What has God promised? Keep your focus on that and on Him.

Prayer [song]: He has promised, He will never fail. I will lean on Him (2x). He has promised, He will never fail, His faithfulness is forever more (2x). Amen!
