The Nine, III

Ps.103:2-5 “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!”

In our search, so far, we have found four out of nine. The one who listened to the voice of doubt. The one who said his miracle was a coincidence. The one who said it was too little too late and the one who said Jesus was just doing His job. Appreciation is big. Read the rest of this entry

For Nothing

Only Jesus

Tough Queries?

Ps.77:7-9 “Has the Lord rejected me forever?  Will he never again be kind to me?  Is his unfailing love gone forever? Have his promises permanently failed? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he slammed the door on his compassion?

Ps.73:23-24 “Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.”

The One

Acts 17:28 (KJV) “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.”

Asaph, one of king David psalmists, expressed his doubts in writing in Psalm 77:1-9 (please read). The first thing that jumps at us when we read this portion of scripture is that we are men of like passions. Read the rest of this entry

Building Faith

John 20:25 “They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”

 

The question on our minds when we come to God and when we come into His presence or His house, should not be – am I going to be blessed today? The question should be, would God be blessed today because I came into His presence, would I bless God’s heart today? Read the rest of this entry
