God Is

Prov. 3:25-26 “Have no fear of sudden disaster . . . for the Lord is your security.”

I pray that if there is still any form of fear in our lives, it will find its way out, in Jesus Name. Something that sometimes tries to cripple us is the fact that we are afraid of crisis that we have not anticipated. Today, God will set us totally free of such fears, in Jesus Name. The fear of accidents, the fear of disasters; people do not want to travel to certain parts of the world because they are afraid of earthquakes. There are all sorts of unexpected incidents these days that can cause us to be afraid.

The accident statistics from The Joyful Noise Letter [a publication] states these facts. If you want to live your life in fear, then do not ride in a car because 70% of fatal accidents happen with cars. If you want to live in fear, do not even stay at home because 17% of all accidents happen at home. Do not walk on the street because 15% of all accidents happen to pedestrians. Do not travel by air, rail or on water, because 16% of all accidents result from these activities. But only 0.001% of all accidents happen in church. So go to church and when you do, do not increase the accident percentage there. I hope you got the joke?

Please read Matthew 8:23-27. This is the story of Jesus calming the storm, an unexpected crisis. “Who is this man, they asked, even the wind and the waves obey him”. The King James Version of the Bible says, “What manner of man is this, that the winds and the waves obey him”. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, everyone around you will begin to say who is this person that is so exceptional and fearless? So shall it be in Jesus Name.

God is saying to you and I, do not be without faith. The disciples encountered an unexpected crisis and Jesus said to them, do not be without faith. Please read Proverbs 3:21-23. God is telling us in His Word not to be afraid of unexpected crisis. What if I get bankrupt, or my husband leaves me for a younger girl, or my children grow up and do not tilt towards me – unexpected crisis. God says do not be afraid of it because the Lord is your security.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are my security and because my faith is in You, I will not be afraid of unexpected crisis, in Jesus Name. Amen!
