Go To God!

Matt.8:25 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

Where you run to when you have a crisis reveals who your saviour is. It is not where you go when you have it all together and you are well dressed on Sunday that reveals who your saviour is. Who your saviour is has nothing to do with the place you run to when you have just bought a new car. Where do you run to when you have a crisis? If it is not to Jesus, you are going to have a problem with storms because only Jesus can calm the wind and the storms.

The third practical thing to do in order to banish the fear of unexpected crisis is to rely on God’s controlMark 4:39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm” [with emphasis].  The words “Silence! Be still!” in the original means sit down and shut up. Jesus looked at the storm and the wind and said, “Sit down and shut up!” Two miracles happened instantly in response to Jesus’ command. If you are familiar with the ocean, you will know that even when a storm seizes, the waves can still continue before eventually dying down. But when Jesus rebuked the wind, the Bible says the wind and the waves seized. This points to the fact that nothing is beyond God’s control – nothing.

Also take note that Jesus did not care to find out the source of the storm. Largely, a storm can be from two sources – from nature and from the enemy. The enemy is always looking for ways to kill God’s children. The enemy’s mission is to steal, to kill and to destroy. But Jesus did not even bother with the source of the storm. Sometimes, we occupy ourselves with things that are irrelevant. Where the storm is coming from does not matter. Stop suspecting people; they mean well for you, so stop suspecting them.

Jesus was not bothered with the source of the storm; Jesus just spoke to the storm. It always makes me laugh when people come to me for help and then spend eighty percent of their time with me asking for the source of their troubles. I laugh because it is irrelevant. The storms will seize in your life in Jesus Name! Say amen!

Prayer [song]: Let Your Living Waters flow over my soul. Let the Holy Spirit come and take control, of every situation that has troubled my mind. All my cares and burdens unto You I roll. Jesus (3x). Father (3x). Spirit (3x). Amen!
