Your Choice

Phil.4:4 “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!”

The writer of this Scripture felt the need to repeat the word “rejoice” because it is worthy of emphasis. Always be full of joy in the Lord – always, I dare to say it again Rejoice! Rejoice because satan is the owner of sorrow. It is not yours so do not carry it. Phil.4:4 “Keep on rejoicing in the Lord at all times. I will say it again: Keep on rejoicing!” [ISV, with emphasis]. I pray that in your house it would be said that rejoicing is constant, in Jesus Name.

The Researchers tell us that an average child makes four hundred expressions of joy a day. Note that this is an average child not a joyful child. A joyful child will have thousands. However, an average adult makes fifteen expressions of joy in a day. What happened to our joy? May you not outgrow joy, in Jesus Mighty Name! Have you noticed that even if there is no money in your own account, your children are not bothered? They are always happy; they really do not care because they have a father. The Bible says except you be converted and become as these little children you will not even see the Kingdom of God. Rejoice!

God wants us to get our rejoicing, our joy, and our laughter back. So what if you make a mistake? Big deal! Just laugh at yourself because you will do better next time. In one of the sports I play, I have seen grown men almost crying because they missed a shot. While it is okay to feel bad but please do laugh because you will get a better shot next time. What is your average expression of joy a day? I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that by the time you are done with your devotion today, it will be at least a thousand a day. Rejoicing is a choice!

Have you ever seen a child have high blood pressure? Children do not have depression, or stroke, or high blood pressure. Give a child complicated Lego or even broomsticks, that child will find joy and happiness in either. God is saying to you rejoice. Start your day with Psa.118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it”. Own the Scripture; put it on your mirror. Regardless of the pressure at work, at home, or in your business, declare it. When the challenges attempt to overwhelm you, declare God’s Word.

Prayer: This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it, in Jesus Name. Amen!
