Words of Life

John 6:63 “The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life”.

The soil facilitates three things – death, stability and continuous nourishment. The soil is a place of continuous nourishment. The water and nutrients that the plants need reach the plant through the root via the soil. When you tell children to water a plant, most often, they pour the water on the leaves of the plant. And it is because they do not know that the water actually goes in through the root. No root, no nourishment. No nourishment, no fruit. No fruit, no harvest. That is not the place to be.

The third thing we must pay attention to on our side of the equation is the Right Conditions. The farmer’s work does not stop after he plants. It does not work like that. In fact the farmer’s work has just started. He needs to provide a growth-enabling environment for the plant consisting of sunlight, water, and fertilizer. Some plants cannot withstand direct heat from the sun. Such plants need a green room to regulate the amount of sunlight. Some plants grow best in the company of other plants. The farmer needs to research and make that happen. He needs to check the pH level of the soil.

The farmer provides an enabling environment for his seed with sunlight, water, fertilizer etcetera. You provide an enabling environment for your planted seed with the words that you speak, hopefully with the Word of God on your lips. You speak life into the soil, the seed, the plant, and its roots with God’s Word. If you keep saying negative things about the seed sown, the harvest is going to be corrupted by the words that you speak.

The enabling environment is so powerful and you can apply this across board. God has placed His seed of greatness in everyone. He has placed the seed for destiny in everyone. But that seed remains a seed until it is planted in the right environment. The job of the pastor [or the parent] is to consistently speak Words of life over the seed. Speak words that will build up and release them into their destiny in God. To the sunlight you add watering, to the watering you add nutrient, to the nutrient you add the Word.

Prayer: In the Name of Jesus, all my seeds take root downward and bear fruit upward, fruits of a hundred fold, in Jesus Name. Amen!
