Prodigally Yours

Isa.43:4 (VOICE)Because you are special to Me and I love you, I gladly give up other peoples in exchange for you; They are trivial by comparison to your weighty significance.

A young man was really excited of the new Lexus twin-engine car he just purchased. The car is so fantastic that when one engine shuts down, the second engine just picks up. So, he took his father for a ride in the car just to show him how fantastic the car was. But his father sighed repeatedly through the entire drive. Unable to stomach it anymore, sighing the son asked his father what the problem was, and the old man said, “My advice to you son is sell this car and buy yourself a Peugeot 504.” The Lexus could buy five Peugeot 504 cars but the old man was unaware of the worth of the Lexus.

Myles Munroe says, “When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable”. 1 John 3:1 (LB) “See how very much our Heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called his children – think of it – and we really are!” Think about the fact that you are God’s child. You know who you are when you know whose you are. A lot of people struggle with identity issues because they do not know whose they are. For you to know who you are, you must first discover whose you are. Who owns you?

God says in Isa. 43:4 “You are precious in my sight.” You do not need to perform to be loved by God or accepted by God and that is just so comforting. You do not need to score ninety or a hundred percent for God to love you. God loves you and it shows. Rom.5:8But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Jesus did not wait for us to be good. If Jesus had had to wait for us to be good before dying for us, He will still be waiting.

Jesus died for me! The day I embraced this emotionally, it was like a huge load was lifted off me. Most people are aware of this truth in their brains but are yet to embrace this emotionally. God loves you totally and you have done nothing to earn it. God loves you unconditionally and you do not need to perform to get His love. Embrace God’s unconditional, unreserved, extravagant, boundless love for you – yes, you!

Prayer [song]: I love You Lord and I lift my voice, to worship You. Oh, my soul, rejoice! Take joy my King in what You hear. Let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear. Amen!
