Chabod

Rom.10:13 “For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God wants those of us who bear His Name to be responsible for the integrity of His Name and that is an awesome privilege.

Isa.52:5 What is this?” asks the Lord. “Why are my people enslaved again? Those who rule them shout in exultation. My name is blasphemed all day long.6 But I will reveal my name to my people, and they will come to know its power. Then at last they will recognize that I am the one who speaks to them.” Those who know and love the Lord are custodians of His Name and His reputation on earth.

A lot of people will not read their Bibles; some do not even have Bibles, but they will read you, they will read your actions and they will read your life. The deepest impression that many people will have of the Lord will come from what they see of Him in you. Think about it, why is the enemy so interested in making people minimize God’s Name? Why is it so easy for people to misuse God’s Name? It is so that God’s Name will mean nothing to you. It is so that God’s Name will have no weight in your life. When God’s Name has no weight in your life, God’s Name will have no weight in your mouth. The demon trembles at the mention of the Name of Jesus, yes, but from the mouth of a person that the Name has weight. Paul commanded demons to come out in the Name of Jesus and the demons came out.

The sons of Sceva [Acts 19] the Bible says in Acts 19:13, “…They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” But the demons did not respond. Does it mean there is something wrong with the Name? The demons did not respond to the Name of Jesus in the mouth of the sons of Sceva because the Name has no weight in their lives and in their mouths. But God wants His Name to be weighty in our mouths. God’s Name must shape your life. His Name must put a constraint on you. If His Name cannot put a constraint on you, you cannot use God’s Name to put a constraint on the devil. The Name of Jesus must be weighty in your life before it can be useful to you.

Prayer: Father, Your Name will be hallowed in my life and it will be weighty in my mouth. I will call on the Name of the Lord and be delivered, in Jesus Name. Amen!
