Planted

Jer. 17:7-8 “…They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit” [with emphasis]

I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you will go on producing delicious fruits regardless of what is happening on the outside; regardless of whether there is a long drought or not. There are four things that stand out from today’s Scripture reference about people that are planted by the river – they are like trees that are planted by the river. The Scripture points out four benefits of growing spiritual roots. The first thing is that the heat does not bother them. This simply means that they can handle pressure. When the world, or circumstances, or the enemy turns on the heat, they do not run out of the kitchen. They stay in the kitchen until the food is cooked. When you are planted, rooted in God, and God is your source, you are not bothered when the heat is turned up.

The second thing is these people are not worried by long months of drought. It means when things actually dry up, they are not worried because they are not dependent on rain for their water. They are dependent on the river for their water. The rain comes and the rain goes but the river of God flows forever. So, the question is what is your source and what are you rooted in? As soon as there is a tragedy, a disaster, or a struggle you know what a man believes and what his trust is in. I pray that if your trust is not in God at all or it is half in God and half in other things, that you will reposition your trust one hundred percent in God because that is where safety is. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe.

The third thing that jumps out at us is the fact that their leaves stay green, they stay fresh, they are unflustered, they remain radiant, and they remain attractive in spite of what is happening on the outside. I pray in Jesus Name that because you are rooted in God, regardless of what is happening in the economy in the world, you will remain green and fresh. I pray that God Himself will be your stay. The fourth thing is they keep on producing fruits. They are not just attractive, they are productive.

Prayer: Jesus, You alone are my source. I will not be bothered by the heat, nor worried by drought. My leaves stay green and I will always produce fruit, in Jesus Name. Amen!
