Gains

Psa.105:“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.”

The value of a car three years after purchase, is not the same as when it was purchased. The reason is because the car has depreciated in value.

However, God says when you are grateful for someone, you are appreciating the person. In other words, that relationship increases in value. God wants us to appreciate and be grateful for one another.

#4. Gratitude Is A Witness To Others: Philp.2:14-15 Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people” [with emphasis]. God is saying, live in a way that makes The Light attractive. Live in a way that makes the truth attractive.

Guess what? There are benefits of living a life of gratitude. The first is, it keeps you in God’s will because the alternative is disobedience. When you are not grateful for the things in your life, it keeps you outside of God’s will. The second benefit of gratitude is it makes you better and not bitter. When things happen to you in life, you can choose to either be better or be bitter. Everybody has an excuse; note that I did not say a reason, rather I said an excuse, to be bitter. Everybody has an excuse not to be grateful for their spouse, their children, for their work and for their nation. But know this, when you are grateful, it makes you better and not bitter.

Thirdly, when you are grateful, it defeats the devil. Just when the devil thinks he has gotten you, he hears you singing and adoring God with praise. But when you keep grumbling, you are actually fuelling the enemy because satan hates to hear people praise God. It defeats the devil and shuts him up; so he will leave you alone for a season. The fourth benefit of living a life of gratitude is – it causes miracles to happen. Faith is thanking God in advance and that births miracles. Your situation may not warrant gratitude but when you push beyond your feelings and what your eyes see and you thank God, miracles happen rapidly.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, let my praise bring You honour, create friendships, develop my faith, and witness to others about Your love unfailing, in Jesus Name. Amen!
