Advance Decisions

John 14:“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Are you going to follow Jesus or not? The decision of who you are going to follow changes the course of your life forever. Am I going to abort the baby or keep the baby? The decisions we make daily impact our lives greatly. Crossroads are crunch times, when destinies are formed. Every crossroad, depending on what the nation has adopted, is governed by a traffic control system. Crossroad governing systems include; the uncontrolled crossroad, where motorists are expected to give way to all traffic on your left. The boxed crossroad, the signal-controlled [traffic lights] crossroad, the roundabout controlled crossroads where the traffic on the roundabout has the right of way. Then the stop-sign controlled crossroad, the four way stop-sign, used mostly in the U.S.

When you get to a crossroad, the first thing you check is what governs that crossroad. Then you make your decisions based on what governs the crossroads. You do not treat a traffic light crossroad like a stop-sign crossroad. You do not respond to a roundabout governed crossroad the way you respond to a boxed crossroad. I hope this makes sense? Never forget, when you get to a crossroad, the first thing you check is what governs the crossroad. Crossroads are very critical, and they force us to make time bound decisions such as whether to turn left, go straight ahead, or to turn right. Typically, people decide on their direction before they get to the crossroad because that also determines the lane they will be on.

A lot of us have probably experienced what it is like to be driving behind a car whose driver is confused about where to turn at the crossroads – really frustrating! I usually would tease my wife that the person driving is female. If it turns out that the driver is male, I insist that his wife must have confused him. It can be really annoying when you get stuck behind such a car. The light is changing, horns are blaring, people are shouting, and the person driving is clueless about what direction to take. It is not when you get to the crossroads that you start asking for direction. By the time you get to the crossroad, you should have already made your decision on what direction to take. Crossroads are peculiar because you have to execute a premade decision.

Prayer [song]: Shepherd of my soul I give You full control, wherever You may lead I will follow. I have made the choice to listen for Your voice, wherever You may lead I will go. Amen!
