The Way

Jn.14:6 (NKJV) “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

The illustration in today’s devotional is not original, the Holy Spirit drew it for me. This is an attempt to graphically capture what He drew. I am just communicating what I have received of the Lord, so please pay attention because it is crucial to the crossroads in life. Every decision you are going to make in life, every crossroad you will encounter, will hinge on these three directions. I know that some people are wondering how come the way of the devil is not represented here? It is because the devil does not have a way, he uses the way of self and the way of the world.

Every decision you made in the past hinged on these three. Every decision you will make going forward will hinge on these three directions. Everything is encapsulated, wrapped up in the cross of Jesus, the cross of Calvary. The solution to the dilemma that we face in life is in the cross. The cross is the way and the way, is the cross. The cross is the key and the key is the cross. The cross of Jesus encapsulates everything. If you can engage, understand, apply the cross, you will always make the right decisions and successfully navigate the crossroads of life. The cross is not just a fashion statement or just another fashion accessory. The cross is not just a tattoo, or an emblem you hang in front of your house or in your car. The cross of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the life of God released to man.

The cross is the difference between the followers of Jesus and non-followers of Jesus. The cross is what differentiates Christianity from other world religions. Take Islam for instance, there is a huge difference between Christianity and Islam. Christianity is about love, love God and your neighbor. If someone slaps you on one cheek, God says turn the other cheek. Islam is sharia and sharia is Islam and this is a fact. While Islam is a political religion, Christianity is not a religion. But for the sake of social understanding, let us call it a religion. Christianity is not a political religion. However, the dilemma is that some Christians are trying to establish a Christian state. God is not interested in a Christian state; our Kingdom is not of this world.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, because I am in Christ, I will only choose the way of God, in Jesus Name. Amen!
