All-in-All
Ex.3:2 (NKJV) “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. 3 Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
Fire usually needs wood to keep burning, but when God appeared in the burning bush, the bush did not burn up. God was making a statement that He does not need anything outside Himself to exist. When He shows up as fire, He can stay aflame without consuming wood. God is God by Himself; He was, He is, and He always will be. As a child of God, the most reliable thing in your life is not your family, or your job, or your bank account, or your certificate, or your education. The most reliable thing in your life is your God. This in summary is what David means when He says, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want because God is reliable.
What are you depending on? Where is your confidence? When you walked out of your house today with a spring in your step, what was your confidence? Was it in your car, or your beautiful wife, or your wonderful children, or in your bank account, or perhaps even the government of your country? What was your confidence? God is the only one that has all it takes to fully satisfy us and that is freedom. We get into trouble and sometimes bondage when we go outside of God to get our needs met. We put our finances in trouble when we step outside of God to meet our needs. Then we cry and complain about what God says in His Word. But He is saying, My Word is reliable, it was you that stepped out.
Yahweh is the I AM THAT I AM. I have discovered [and I hope you have too] that I am not I AM. I have discovered that God is God and I am not. It is one of the best discoveries of your life particularly if you are in any form of leadership. In fact, as a human being living on this earth, the best discovery of your life is I am not I AM. God is God and I am not. I am able to sleep, completely worry free. I can laugh and play like a little child, because my Dad is the I AM THAT I AM. I also discovered that they are not I AM. My destiny is not in anybody’s hands. Your destiny is not in anybody’s hands – not the government, not the systems, and not in the hands of the economic policies that constantly rise and fall. Your destiny is not in the hands of your wicked relative. They are not I AM; you need to write it on your mirror and say it to yourself daily.
David says I AM THAT I AM is my shepherd, I shall not want. I have no care, I am free, and I cannot be in bondage because He is the strongest. I cannot be held bound because He is the highest. I cannot be confused because He is God. When the Lord is your shepherd, you look to Him alone.
Prayer: Lord, You are my shepherd, I have all that I need, even my wants are satisfied, in Jesus Name. Amen!
