Accurate Account

John 19: 35 “(This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account. He speaks the truth so that you also may continue to believe.)” [with emphasis]

Every single prophesy was fulfilled in Christ Jesus – all! The next prophecy we would examine is, the Messiah’s bones would not be broken. The prophecy is in Ex.12:46Each Passover lamb must be eaten in one house. Do not carry any of its meat outside, and do not break any of its bones.” Jesus was our Passover Lamb; the Passover Lambs bones were not to be broken [Please read Ps.34:20]. The fulfillment is in John 19:33But when they came to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead, so they didn’t break his legs. 34 One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out…. 36 These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken” [with emphasis]. John personally witnessed the fulfillment of this prophecy. The relevance is, nothing can happen to you without God’s approval.

The next prophecy is, the Messiah would be buried with the rich. We see the prophecy in Isa. 53:9He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave”. The fulfillment is in Matt.27:57 As evening approached, Joseph, a rich man from Arimathea who had become a follower of Jesus, 58 went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. And Pilate issued an order to release it to him. 59 Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. 60 He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left.” [with emphasis].

It is also very instructive that Jesus would mingle with criminals and low lives, and with the rich. Even while He was dying, Jesus did not segregate. Unfortunately, I have heard some people preach the gospel as if rich people are going to hell and back it up with the story of Lazarus and the rich man. If you check, sometimes, the reason is the one preaching is poor. Jesus did not segregate, He was same for the poor and the rich. Some rich people feel that certain “kinds” of people should not be allowed into their churches. But not Jesus, the rich could approach Him, meet with Him, and sometimes invite Him to their homes. Examples are Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, Zacchaeus, even Simon the Pharisee. Likewise, Jesus also did not mind hanging out with prostitutes, tax collectors, criminals. Jesus associated with everybody regardless of race, or class, or status. Even Nazareth, with it horrible reputation, was the very place Jesus chose to be associated with for all time. Heaven will be filled with people who were poor while on earth and people who were rich while on earth.

Prayer: Father, please make my heart right always and defend me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
