Childlike

Mark 10:14 “…Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” [with emphasis].

When God looks at you and calls you champion, it is not wishful thinking or motivational speaking. God is not just trying to make you feel good and He is not just trying to pep you up. He is actually telling you who you are; you are a champion because God says so. I want you to stand in front of the mirror and declare these same words into your life, come in alignment with God. When you call a child a champion, that child immediately begins to see the champion in himself or herself.

Mark 10:13One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.” [with emphasis]. God always sends a child to the rescue; that is how God works. When you consider the Kingdom of God, you will discover that anyone who does not receive the Kingdom of God as a child, cannot enter into it.

The Kingdom of God is the answer to all the problems of humanity. God expects you to bring His Kingdom into your family, into your business, into your career, into your environment, and eventually into your nation. But God is saying except you are like a little child, you cannot even receive this Kingdom. God sent a child to bring you into His Kingdom and you cannot receive the Kingdom except you become like a child. In other words, it took a child, Jesus, to bring the Kingdom and it takes becoming like a child to receive this Kingdom that God has for us.

When God wants to solve a problem, He uses the simplest things to solve that problem. God takes the seemingly laughable things and brings glory through it. God sends a child to the rescue. There are a lot of murder, gun crime, and shooting crimes in Chicago. The story was told about a mother that got into an altercation with another woman, maybe over drugs or a man, and the woman pulled a gun on her. In that split second, her nine-year-old ran in front of her, shielded her and took the bullet for her. The boy died, and the woman ran away. But that experience led the mother to Christ; she is born again, living a clean life and following Jesus. But for that to happen, a child needed to come to the rescue. The boy gave his life for the mother. This is exactly what Jesus did for us.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to be childlike in the things of God and to receive God’s Kingdom like a child, in Jesus Name. Amen!
