Bear Fruit
John 15:7&16 “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! …You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”
When you are fruitful, Jesus says, you will be extremely powerful. “…so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” Whatever means whatever. Also, note that the phrase “using my name” is not just about appending the Name of Jesus to a statement or rounding up prayers with ‘in Jesus Name’. It is that and so much more, it is about using His authority. For instance, you need access to see the president, then someone gives you a business card. The instruction is, when you get to the gate, show them the card, and will be given access. So, you go with that card and when you get to the gate, you show them the business card. They examine the card and see that the one who gave you the card also signed on the reverse side of the card.
Immediately they see that signature, the command is, ‘Access!’ and every other gate is opened to you. The access you have did not come in your name but in the name of the person that gave you that card. Similarly, when you are praying in the Name of Jesus, in your consciousness and in the fullness of your mind, you need to know you are coming in the Name of Jesus. It is in the authority of Jesus that you say, ‘Lift up your heads of ye gates and be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in.’ And the gates will be lifted up because you have not come in your name. You have come in His Name, the Name of Jesus. It is totally beautiful.
You are as powerful as you are fruitful. The more fruitful you are, the more powerful you become. The more souls you bring to God, the more spiritual clout you will have. The more people that are on their way to eternity with God on your account, or a contribution from you. The more you are able to decree things in the spirit and they happen in the physical. I am sure we all want to be able to decree things in the spirit and see it manifest in the physical. Jesus is saying, this is the way to spiritual clout. If you have been a Christian for a while, you would have noticed that some people pray, shout and even somersault and nothing appears to happen. But some other people show up and say, ‘in Jesus Name let this door be open’, boom and doors open.
What is the difference? Spiritual authority. How do you grow in spiritual authority? Jesus says, bear fruit; when you bear fruit, you will be able to command the resources of heaven. When your life is fruitful, heaven knows that the power they are giving you is going to be useful for heaven. In other words, you will use it for God’s glory not for your glory so, heaven will give you more. But if all the power given to you is being used to control your spouse. You just want to be able to tell him or her to sit down and it happens. The anointing you want is so that you can oppress your spouse, heaven will look for someone else to anoint. I pray that will not be the case for us; we will steward God’s power rightly and be fruitful, in Jesus Name. Amen!
Prayer: Father, I ask for the grace and wisdom to multiply every resource, every ability that You have deposited in me, none will be dormant, in Jesus Name. Amen!
