Matthew 12:^9-10 “Then Jesus went over to their synagogue, where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, “Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath?” (They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.)”

God will notice you. Heaven will pay attention to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus. There were a lot of people, but as soon as Jesus got there, He noticed the man. The truth is that sometimes you may feel that God has forgotten you. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, God will not just notice you, He will come to your aid. Jesus came into the synagogue; he noticed the man whose hand was withered. Even though Jesus hadn’t done anything, the Pharisees intercepted Jesus. Guess what? When God notices you, you may not even know that God has noticed you, but the Pharisees can tell that God has noticed you. You may not realize that God has noticed you, but your adversary and the Pharisees can tell that God has noticed you, and they will try to intercept that intervention. But they will fail in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Before the man himself got involved, the Pharisees intercepted the situation. They saw that this Jesus has the habit of doing good everywhere He goes. It was like they were saying it is the way of this Jesus to heal people and to do good. But before You try it, Jesus, is it lawful? How can you be in a place where you are so focused on what is lawful or unlawful, without even realizing what God is thinking or saying? Matthew 12:¹⁰ “…The Pharisees asked Jesus, “Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath?” Notice how they did not just say to heal but they said to work by healing. In other words, Jesus, if You heal, it is working on the Sabbath.

Matthew 12:^10-14 “… (They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him.) And he answered, “If you had a sheep that fell into a well on the Sabbath, wouldn’t you work to pull it out? Of course you would. And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored, just like the other one! Then the Pharisees called a meeting to plot how to kill Jesus.”

A couple of things stand out from this portion of scripture, and we are going to focus on three of them beginning today. The first is as God takes you on a journey to restoration, Embrace Compassion. It is very easy for people to become legalistic. It is very easy for people who God has helped to forget the help that God has shown them and become so legalistic even in relating with other people that God wants to help. Don’t be like that; embrace compassion.

Prayer: Father, give an answer to every adversary trying to intercept my restoration, and keep me from blocking other people’s restoration, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
