Look Up!

Gen.31:^10-12 “One time during the mating season, I had a dream and saw that the male goats mating with the females were streaked, speckled, and spotted. Then in my dream, the angel of God said to me, ‘Jacob!’ And I replied, ‘Yes, here I am.’ “The angel said, ‘Look up, and you will see…”

I have a friend that is unbelievably accurate prophetically. He can shake your hand and ask why you wore a blue shirt yesterday, so accurate in the Holy Spirit. How did we meet? I was staying in a guest house in Port Harcourt at the time on the project. He was a friend of a friend, so he came to see my friend and as he came into my room, he asked my friend, who stays in the room because there was so much power in the room. If someone is talking spiritually, step back and engage the person spiritually. So, I inquired about him, and I saw that he was a prophet. Then he told me how one of the people he was discipling came to him and said, ‘Pastor, I want to see’. He said that it was not a big deal because sometimes when God has gifted you, you think everybody else should be able to operate in the gift that God has given you.

So, he began to pray for the person he was discipling. He said he prayed, and prayed, and prayed. Then he said, ‘Open your eyes, what do you see?’ And his disciple said, ‘I see you, Pastor.’ He prayed some more and said, ‘Father, open his eyes’. He said, ‘open your eyes, what do you see?’ the man replied again, ‘Pastor, I see you!’ so he sent the man away. Sometimes, we try to force things, but the truth is that God has actually given you and I the ability to see with our minds at the least. The imagination that we have is a gift from God. Children are amazing dreamers. That is why children can play with anything. Give children two sticks, they would turn it into a very interesting game that they can play for hours. Why? It is because their imagination is really sharp. And as adults, God expects us to have very sharp imaginations also. However, we kind of lose the sharpness in our imagination perhaps because of the educational system, or perhaps failures of life, or the realities of defeat maybe. But something goes wrong as we grow up. I pray that God will correct that in your life today in the Name of Jesus.

God wants to use your imagination to change your life. Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” If you do not know Einstein, then you need to renew your imagination. If you noticed, the trend of education today is there is less and less emphasis on what you can cram. There is more and more emphasis on what you can create. The future belongs to the creative mind. It is how you can use your imagination that will determine how wealthy you become and not how much information you can actually memorize. Therefore, without a dream, you are not actually living, you are just merely existing.  If there is something the enemy comes against, it is the dream of an individual. Dreaming is so important.

Prayer:  Father, as You did for my father Abraham, open the eyes of my spirit, open the eyes of my imagination, and cause me to dream big, in Jesus Name. Amen!
