The Journey

Ps.66:10-12 “He trained us first, passed us like silver through refining fires, brought us into hardscrabble country, pushed us to our very limit, road-tested us inside and out, took us to hell and back; Finally he brought us to this well-watered place.” (MSG)

For us that are in the New Covenant, the uncommon dream that God has for us, the God-sized dream that God has for us will take us on a journey of uncommon paths. The path that God is taking you through is not the path your brothers took. It is not the path that your sisters took. God has your own path mapped out for you because of the dream He has for you. If Joseph insisted on following the path that Simeon went through, Joseph would never have become a prime minister in Egypt. You cannot insist that because when people finish from the university, they get jobs, work for some years, become managers, then general managers, and then CEO that, that is your path also. But God is saying that your own life is going to be different.

Perhaps He is saying that when you finish University, for one year you will not get a job. But you are rejecting it in Jesus Name. It is because of where He, God is taking you. God’s dream for you will take you on a journey of uncommon paths. Perhaps God is saying that when you finally get a job, for the first three years everyone but you will get promoted. Even now some people are saying, ‘Pastor, I do not want this kind of prophecy. Give me correct prophecy, promotion every year’. Nevertheless, I am saying it is because of where God is taking you. Do not compare yourself with your neighbour, your path is beautiful and different, and you need to realize that. The willingness to embrace the pain actually qualifies you for the palace. The question is, what are you sacrificing that most would not, so that you can live like few will? What are you sacrificing? What are you willing to embrace? What is the path God has for you? Are you saying, ‘Lord, not my will but Your will. I am going to die to myself on this path. I am ready to go’? Most people are not willing to make such sacrifices to live like few will.

People see your life and say, God has blessed you, your life is so beautiful. Praise God for that. Some even start to get jealous of your anointing. You should advise them to be careful what they are coveting. By the grace of God, I have had Pastor friends tell me that I am just one of the ‘lucky ones’ and it is because of what God is doing. I laugh because God has just started, they have not even seen anything yet. They say, ‘you are one of the lucky ones’ and I say, ‘should I show you my scars? Should I tell you about the nights I sat confused, asking God to help me, or else I will be in trouble?’ You were not there when Jesus found me, you do not know the story of this alabaster box. You just see the oil and you say, ‘all these small small Pastors that are anointed these days only God knows where they get the power from’. It is from God, and God alone.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for my journey of uncommon paths and the well-watered place You are taking me to, in Jesus Name. Amen!
