Philippians 2:⁴ “Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing.” (LB).

Who are the people that should be in our circle? Choose close friends who will Challenge You Mentally. Choose close friends who will Support You Emotionally. And choose friends who will Strengthen You Spiritually. 1 Thessalonians 5:¹¹ “…encourage each other and build each other up…”. How can I attract friends who will Challenge me mentally, Support me emotionally, and Strengthen me spiritually? By being that kind of friend. You have to become the friend that you desire, that is how to attract this kind of friends. Now that we know the kind of people we should and should not have in our circle. So, the question is, how do we experience relational metamorphosis? We will look at eight things beginning today.

To experience relational metamorphosis, Get Interested In Other People. We mostly look out for the things that concern us. For example, in a group picture, the first person you search for is yourself. And if you do not look good in the picture, the picture is not good. If you look good, then the picture is good. How you look in the group picture becomes the yardstick for measuring if the picture was good or bad, even when it has fifteen other people in it. That is just how human beings are wired. People are mostly looking out for themselves, and this is why we need to stop worrying about what people think about us. Most people are thinking about themselves.

Therefore, we have to move away from that selfish nature and get genuinely interested in other people. We need to take our focus off ourselves and become selfless because selfishness is a guarantee for loneliness. The selfish person mostly ends up being a lonely miserable person. Prov.18:¹ “Unfriendly people care only about themselves…”. To have friends, you have to show yourself friendly. Philippians 2:⁴ “Don’t just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing.” (LB). I know you have things you are praying and trusting God for. Guess what? Things are just about to blow up in your favour and the heavens are about to be opened. Say Amen. Every barrier is about to be broken and shattered.

God is going to expand you to the north, south, east, and west in the Name of Jesus. You are going to experience fruitfulness on every side. But do not just think about yourself. Get interested in other people. Think about your family, neighbours, and people that are close to you but far from God. Invite them to church so that God can transform their lives too. Practice it! Invite them to God.

Prayer: Father, I bring my heart to You the Source of my life, purge every selfishness in me, and help me get genuinely interested in others, in Jesus Name. Amen!
