Just Stay

Hebrews 11:6 “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

Faith is powerful. Faith is a prerequisite to walking with God. Hebrews 11:6 “…without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (KJV). Faith is a prerequisite for walking with God. However, the greatest assignment of faith in your life is not what you can get from God. The greatest assignment of faith in your life is knowing God and walking with God. In the story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus we see that before their problems, the faith they had brought them into a relationship with Jesus. And when they had the problem, even though they (Mary and Martha) did not have the faith to bring them out of the problem, their relationship with Jesus overpowered their faithlessness at the time.

Relationships will always trump faith one hundred percent (100%) of the time. There will come a time in your life when you do not have the faith required, but God will do that miracle anyway because it is you. Many times, in the scriptures God would say, ‘because of Abraham My friend I will do this’. ‘You people are faithless but because of David I will do this’. The first way that The Way Maker wants to make for you is the way into the Promised Land. I pray for you today that God, The Most High God, will make a way for you into your Promised Land in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Secondly, The Way Maker wants to make a way in you. He does not just want to make a way for you into the Promised Land, but He also wants to make a way in you.

A friend of mine sent me a scripture a while ago and I wrestled with that scripture for a few days. James 1:2-4 “Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colours. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.” (MSG). If you can read this scripture when you are in trouble and believe it, then you are a believer. You do not know your true colour until you are under pressure. You do not know the true colours of those around you until there is pressure.

We spend a lot of our time asking God to deliver us from trouble, to make a way for us, and to shorten the cycle. But God is saying to you and I, “…don’t try to get out of anything prematurely”. Stay in the kitchen! Stay in the heat! Stay in the oven!

Prayer (song): Give me grace to follow, abundant grace to follow, sufficient grace to follow… Your grace is enough for me! Amen!
