Youth

Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.” (NKJV)

Youth signifies energy. The lesson for us from this Scripture is that the time to do your best work, the best time to serve God is when you have the best energy. When should you pray, should it be in the morning or at night? Yes, you should pray all the time, but you should pray when your energy is highest. For some people that means praying in the morning. For some people, it means praying at night. And for some, it means praying in the afternoon. And when it comes to your life’s work, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth…”. Let’s say you run a business, the business is the assignment God has given you. You are to mind that business at the peak of your energy. “…before the difficult days come…” when energy is depleted.

And with energy, there is physical energy and intellectual energy. Sometimes, you are physically strong but intellectually weak. So, you cannot do any mental work even though you have physical energy. There is also social energy and communal economic energy. That simply means, how many people will go to bed with food in their stomachs because of you? How many families will have food on their tables because of you? Do I hear you ask what has this got to do with energy? Everything! The more people that heaven can see that will have food on their tables because of you, the more energy you are creating for yourself from heaven. Does that make sense?

Let me explain; God looks down and sees that families A, B, C, and D have food on their tables because of child H. What then happens is that spiritual economic energy is made available for child H. That is why some people have more resources from heaven, more energy from heaven than others. But, if you are going to eat everything that is provided for you, because you are focused on me, myself and I; make all I can, put it in a can, and sit on the can. Some people are even stingy with their spouses and children. Such people are limiting their own spiritual energy.

No matter how much you earn, ask yourself, who is better off because of me? Who is going to school or whose school fees are being paid because of me? Who is getting fed because of me? Isaiah 40:29-31 “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” It is God that gives energy and strength. I pray you will get this and that you will find new strength in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Prayer: Father, renew my youth and help me mind my assignment, in Jesus Name. Amen!
