Isaiah 14:^26-27 “I have a plan for the whole earth, a hand of judgment upon all the nations. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies has spoken—who can change his plans? When his hand is raised, who can stop him?”

Our focus this season is on The Hand of God. So, over the next few days, we will be looking at the aspect of the Hand of God known as The Hand of Judgement. A judgement is simply a decision, a verdict, something that flows from volition. It could be arbitrary, based on facts or evidence, but it is a decision. Subconsciously and consciously, we make judgements every time. We make decisions about what to wear, the route to take, the school to attend, the course to study, or who to marry. The people who really, truly achieve their destinies are the people who by and large make the right judgment calls. I pray that you will make the right judgement calls for your life and destiny in Jesus Name.

The weight of the judgement is usually directly proportional to the weight of the person making the judgement. For example, if your child says, “I hereby decree that in this house going forward bedtime is at midnight because we the children need enough time to play.” As a parent, you will most likely just laugh and tell the child that he or she has too much sugar in his or her system. Why would you laugh and discard your child’s decree? It is because at best the child is joking. What if your neighbour says, “I hereby declare that tomorrow is a public holiday?” Would you respect that judgement, or would you go to work? You will go to work because of the clout of the person speaking, making the judgement.

As the lawyers would say, it is out of your neighbour’s jurisdiction. Your neighbour does not have the power to make such decisions. But if the president of the nation announces that tomorrow is a public holiday. Case closed! You may not like it because in your opinion there are too many public holidays in the country. You may even complain, but you will save your fuel and not go to work. What if it is in the legal system, and the judge gives a judgment? The judgement will stand. Even if it is a judgment against the president. Depending on the level of the court that issues a judgment, you can appeal. You can go as high as the Supreme Court of the land, right? And whatever the Supreme Court decides is law.

Now, we are dealing with a God who has addressed Himself as a judge, One who is called the Judge of the whole earth. And God’s clout is unparalleled. His court is at the highest. Every court on earth is subject to the court of heaven. There is no case that cannot be overruled there. I am telling you from experience. And when God decrees a thing, who can annul it?
