Fret Not
Psalm 37:3 “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” (KJV, emphasis added).
The Word of God will meet you at the point of your need in the Name of Jesus. It is written that He sent His Word, and His Word healed them and delivered them from all their oppressions (Psalm 107:20). My assignment over the next few days is to declare some things into your life. Say Amen for the ones you want and for the ones you do not want, just keep quiet. Is that a good deal? Enlargement is very multifaceted. I pray today that God Himself will deliver all He has for you to you in the Name of Jesus.
As we live our lives and we do life, we feel sometimes that things are not the way they ought to be. And we sometimes may want to get discouraged. We look at people who are doing the wrong things and they seem to be getting away with them. And you are like; does it even really make sense for me to follow God? We look at the world, we see evil thriving, and sometimes it’s only human to get discouraged. We look at our country, it is as if evil is getting stronger and stronger. But we have a Word from the Lord in Psalm 37:1-2 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” (KJV, emphasis added).
This was David writing to us. This was not David, the shepherd boy who was mistreated at home and sent to the field to take care of the sheep alone. This was not David, wondering why there was so much discrimination even at home. This was not David, the king’s harpist, who he possessed, King Saul was hurling javelins at and was dodging for his life while wondering what he had done. This was not David, whose wife was given to another man. This was not David, who was running from one wilderness to the other and hiding in caves. This was not David confused, trusting God, and declaring, the Lord is my rock and my salvation, my defence, and my strong tower. This was not David, who was just the king of Judah.
This was not David who was running from his son, Absalom. This was David, the elder statesman, at the end of his life, looking at life and speaking the Word of God under inspiration saying, “Don’t worry about evildoers. I have been there. I have my scars. I have proof that evildoers will not thrive. Don’t worry about them.” David says to us in Psalm 37:25 “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” (KJV). You will not be forsaken; your children will not beg for bread.
Prayer: Father, I fix my eyes on You alone, I trust You and I prosper, in Jesus Name. Amen!
