Carrying Grace
Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished….” (emphasis added).
There is an aspect of grace that is very crucial. It is like the bedrock everything sits on. And that is the fact that God has the power to sustain you by His grace. We sometimes go through things in life that make us wonder, where is God and is He on my side? What is God saying about this? God has sent His Word to you this season and He is saying to you that He will sustain you by His grace. God always finishes what He starts. If He started a work in you, He is going to finish it. If He started a work through you, He is going to finish it. If he started a work for you, He is going to finish it. God doesn’t abandon or has abandoned projects. God can choose to re-strategize or reroute things, however, He always finishes what He starts.
God will continue His work in you until it is finally finished. I want you to know that if it is not finished then God is not done with you. Therefore, you can confidently look at yourself in the mirror and say, be patient, God is not done with you. You are under construction. You can confidently say to the people you do life with; be patient with me God is not done with me. I am under construction. I like T-shirts that carry the inscription, “Under construction! God at work!” You are under construction and God will finish what He began in you in the Name of Jesus. I want you to take time out to just meditate on this truth because that is the Word of God to you. Do you receive it? God will sustain you. Sustaining grace is the power to keep on going when you feel like giving up. Sustaining grace is the power of God that comes upon you and enables you to continue to put one foot in front of the other even when you feel like giving up.
1 Peter 5:12 “…My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God’s grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.” The grace of God is with you no matter what happens. Are you familiar with the painting of the footprints in the sand? It starts off with two pairs of footprints, then at some point, there is only one pair, and then we see two footprints again. The story goes that God was explaining to someone that, that is you and I walking across time. The person said, “I can see only one pair of footprints at the most difficult part of my life. That must have been the time You left me to walk it alone, the time I could not find You”. And God responded, “Child, the footprints you can see in the sand are mine, not yours. That was when I was carrying you through the storms.” God will carry and sustain you. This is the carrying grace and sustaining grace you will see everywhere.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for carrying and sustaining me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
