New Beginning

Matthew 28:5-6 “…the angel said to them, ‘There’s no reason to be afraid. I know you’re here looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here—he has risen victoriously, just as he said! Come inside the tomb and see the place where our Lord was lying.” (TPT, emphasis added).

And because Jesus is alive, we can be bold enough to know that tomorrow will be alright. As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, it is important to reflect on the fact that Jesus is King! Jesus is Lord! Jesus is Alive! When you consider His claims, it is either Jesus was a fugitive, a madman, or He is God, and He is telling the truth. And because He is God, He prophesied His resurrection, and He pulled it off. So, we will celebrate the resurrection and Easter with billions of other Christians around the world this season. And because Jesus is alive, not only did God’s Favourite House begin in Lagos, Nigeria. God’s Favourite exists and is thriving in different locations all over the world because Jesus is Alive.

The Word of God to us this Easter season to bless us and release us into our destinies is A Fresh Start. Have you been in the middle of a project or assignment, and you just wish you could start all over again? For some it is in education; you started off studying engineering and you wish you could be studying accounting. For some it is in your career, you are climbing up the ladder and it is as though your ladder is set up against the wrong wall and you wish you could start again. For some it is in parenting, your children are now in college, or young adults, or maybe teenagers, or maybe even toddlers. But you wish you could start again. For some, it is in your marriage that you wish you could start this thing called marriage again. For some of us, it is in our lives all together and we wish we could start our lives again. Adulting is difficult, and you wish you could go back to being rocked like a baby with all your needs met.

One thing Easter offers is the opportunity to have a fresh start. Easter is all about getting a fresh start. When you think about it, what Jesus did for us is all about having a fresh start. 1 Corinthians 1:30 “…a clean slate and a fresh start come from God by way of Jesus Christ.” (MSG). How does God actually give us a fresh start? Does it mean getting back into the womb and being born again? I am sure you are thinking about different areas in your life and wondering, how can God give me a fresh start? What God is saying to you is that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to bring new life, new change, and a fresh start in your life.

If God can give Jesus a new life, if God can raise Jesus from the dead, God can definitely give you a fresh start. Romans 6:4 “…just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we also can live a new life.” (NCV). A fresh start and a new life, just as Christ was raised!

Prayer: Father, because of the death and the resurrection of Jesus, I come into my fresh start today, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
