Closed Case

Romans 8:¹ “So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.” (TPT)

The greatest destroyer of confidence is guilt and shame. You are not perfect. You stopped being perfect some time ago in case you did not know. I also stopped being perfect a long time ago. If you insist on bearing the shame of your errors or mistakes, you cannot walk in the confidence that God has for you. You have to allow Jesus to take the shame, pain, and guilt so that you can walk in the confidence that He has for you. Romans 8:¹ “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” For instance, there were things that I did to my dad growing up. My dad loved me so much. I was Daddy’s favourite boy and now I am God’s favourite child.

There was nothing my dad wouldn’t do for me. But at some point, I needed to stand up to him because no one else could. So, I stepped up and he was shocked. I said, “Dad, you are wrong. Go back.” It was one of the most difficult periods of my growing-up years when I think about it. And that experience nagged me for a long time even though I thought I did the right thing. Guess what? When I came to Jesus, I carried that pain, shame, and guilt and gave it to Him. You need to decide who is going to carry the pain, shame, and guilt. Are you going to carry it or is Jesus going to carry it? God offers to forgive everything that you have done wrong.

Romans 8:¹ “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus....” (NKJV, emphasis added). The question is, do you belong to Christ? If you don’t, I pray that you will today in Jesus Name. If you belong to Christ, no condemnation means no condemnation. In fact, when we feel condemned, we are questioning the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. I have decided not to be a party to that. God is saying to you, that you can have closure about your past. Knowing that the past is past gives you confidence. The fact that God offers to forgive everything you have done wrong boosts your confidence.

Another thing that boosts your confidence is that You Can Trust God To Work Out The Details Of Your Life. That is such a confidence booster. The greatest source of stress is we want to work out the details of our lives. But if you trust God to work out the details of your life, you can go to sleep. How can you sleep when there is this much trouble? I can because God is working out the details of my life, so there is no need for both of us to be awake. He that watches over Israel does not slumber nor sleep. Since He is doing the work, I can as well go to sleep. If you are struggling with sleep, receive the grace to sleep in the Name of Jesus.
