Let It Go!

Hebrews 12:1 “…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

After you have rebooted and gotten rid of unnecessary background services that are running on the computer. The next thing you need to do is to delete unnecessary apps. Some users on the network have installed games and all sorts of things that are killing the system. And sometimes, the things they have downloaded are exposing the office network, making it vulnerable to attacks. You need to delete unnecessary apps. How does this apply to us? It means you need to let the past go! There are certain things that you need to categorize as past and let them go. Now, those things may be current in your life, but you need to label them as past and let them go. You need to delete certain things from your life because they are opening your life up to attacks, unnecessary distractions, and pulling.

Philippians 3:12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.” (KJV). You have to let it go—let the past go! One of the things I love about golf is that you must be able to let the past go. If you are unable to let the past go, you cannot play golf. If you played a bad shot, and you have messed up the previous hole. Once you get to the new hole, the best golfers know how to let the past go and execute an excellent shot. But the people who play badly at golf are not necessarily technically inept. Some of them are actually technically good. But they make a mistake on hole one, and they beat themselves until hole eighteen.

And it is such a drag for everybody playing with them, particularly when they complain. “Oh, I am better than this.” “Oh, I shouldn’t have done that.” Shut up! Let it go and play the game. And that is how a lot of people are. Yes, something happened. You made a mistake. You played a bad shot. Let it go because you are on a new Tee box. It is a new chapter! Let the past go! You cannot execute an excellent shot if you are carrying the burden of the bad shot. You have to let it go. Ted Lasso tells his players that the happiest animal on earth is the goldfish because goldfish are said to have a ten-second memory. He says to them, “Be a goldfish”, meaning move on from mistakes. The goldfish doesn’t remember what happened ten seconds ago.

I don’t know if that is scientifically correct, but that is what he said. The goldfish is just happy; it is not carrying burdens, unforgiveness, or resentment. The goldfish has moved on. Let it go!

Prayer: Father, I let go of every past mistake and delete every unnecessary app that is slowing me down, and I run the race that You have set before me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
