Can Do
Exodus 4:1-2 “But Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, ‘The Lord never appeared to you’?” Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied.”
God answered Moses’ questions; God will answer your questions and infuse you with confidence in the Name of Jesus. Yesterday, we saw God’s response to two of Moses’ four big excuses. The questions of Who Am I? and Who Are You? Moses’ next question was What Proof Do I Have? God said to Moses, “What do you have in your hands?” “What proof do you have? What if these people don’t believe me? What if they say that I don’t have a calling?” Most times when we want God to validate us, we are expecting that suddenly, we will have the gifts of Prophecy and Revelation. Immediately, we will be able to say, “There is someone here…” or “Thus says the Lord…” or “This and that is happening…”. And we are correct, so there is proof of the anointing of God upon our lives.
But God always starts with what is in your hands. God will always use the things that you don’t necessarily consider to be spectacular. God is not going to bring a new shepherd’s staff. He is going to use the one that is in your hands. The final protest from Moses was Can’t You See My Disability? And God answered and said, You will be like a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron, your brother, will be like your prophet. The times you don’t want to speak, Aaron will be your mouthpiece. This means that God will send you human help. God will not only be with you, but God will also bring help—people who will help you.
So, now you see that people like you CAN because of God’s presence. People like you CAN because of God’s revelation. People like you CAN because of the rod you already have in your hands. People like you CAN because of the community that God has put around you. People like you CAN! Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (emphasis added). In fact, through Christ, all these questions are answered. The question of Who Am I? Your identity in Christ sorts that out. The question of Who Are You?
The Person of Christ sorts that out. The question of What Proof Do I Have? The anointing of Christ, the Anointed One and His anointing sorts that out. The question of Can’t You See My Disability? The enablement of Christ sorts that out. The first bait you should not bite is I Am Too Young For That Bait. The second bait you should not bite is the I Am Too Old For That Bait. The third bait you should not bite is the I Can Only Prosper If I Japa Bait. The next bait that you must not bite is the People Like Me Don’t… Bait.
Prayer: Father, I receive the empowerment and enablement to do all things through Christ and in Christ, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
