Always More

Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (NKJV).

People who think you are alone are mistaken. When they come closer, they discover that you are not alone and that there is more to you than meets the eye. “…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (NKJV, emphasis added). What does never mean? Never means never. Child of God, God will never leave you. God is with you everywhere you go. Never means even when you don’t feel like it, God is with you. Even when you feel lonely, God is with you. Once you realize that and you connect to God, boom, loneliness goes away. Even when you realize that you’ve gone to the left or to the right, guess what? God is with you. David understood this and said, “If I go to the depth of the sea, You will be there waiting for me. If I climb to the highest mountain, You are there. Even from my mother’s womb, You were with me (Psalm 139). God is with you. You are not alone. Don’t bite that bait. Some people believe that they are alone in this life. No, you are not alone. God is with you, and God’s children are with you. The New Living Translation of Hebrews 13:5 puts it this way, “Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” God will never abandon you. He is with you.

Don’t bite the I Am Alone Bait. Sometimes, because we are going through challenges, we think that God is not with us. And we even think that God has failed us, so He is not with us. No, God says He will never fail you. The things you see, and you think are failures, God is going to turn them around for your good in the Name of Jesus. Then you will realize that God has never left you for one day. God is with you. I want you to say it to yourself, say, “God is with me. God will never leave me. God will never abandon me.” Your time is in God’s hands. Your life is in God’s hands.

The seventh bait that you should not bite is the I Will Be Perfect One Day Bait. It is a bait, don’t bite it. Sometimes, you may look at yourself and feel dissatisfied, or maybe you let yourself or other people down. Or you have not achieved what we intended to. Or maybe you feel so imperfect, and you say to yourself, “I will be perfect one day.” Don’t bite that bait because you will not be perfect on this side of eternity. But are we not supposed to be praying that we will be perfect? No. I pray you will be transformed and be more and more like Jesus. Is that not perfection? That is growth and transformation. If you are more like Jesus today than you were yesterday, that immediately tells you that you were not perfect yesterday.

Prayer: Father, make me more like Jesus tomorrow than I am today and help me know Your manifest presence each day, in Jesus Name. Amen!
