Favour

Psalms 75:^6-7 “This I know: the favour that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favour rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees.” (TPT)

The ninth bait that you should not bite is the Why Am I So Unlucky Bait. Do not bite it! Anything that whispers to you and says, “Why are you so unlucky?” Catch yourself, do not bite it. Instead, declare out loud, I am not unlucky! In fact, the Bible says in Psalm 16:⁶ “The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.” (NKJV). Do not bite the bait, and do not say that you are unlucky. And this Why Am I So Unlucky bait comes in different ways. Sometimes, it comes as “why is my own like this or like that?” Don’t bite it. It is okay not to be in denial if you are going through a challenging time. It is okay for you to be truthful if you have gone through pain.

However, don’t bite the bait that, that is the summation of your destiny. No, it is not! You have only read the two chapters. You still have fifteen chapters to go. There is so much more that God will do with you and through you in the Name of Jesus. Recently, I was thinking through my life from when I was a little boy, and my path has been pretty rough and tough until now. I am not denying that my path has been tough; however, the lines are falling unto me in pleasant places, and yes, I have a goodly heritage. I have a good inheritance in the Name of Jesus. I don’t have two left feet because God brings me out every time. He sets me on top every single time. Matthew 10:²⁹ “What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.”

Think about that! As cheap as sparrows are, not even one falls to the ground without your Father knowing it. Then what about you? Why do you think things are happening to you haphazardly? God knows everything that is going on in your life, every detail. “So, why is He doing it?” some people would ask. He is not doing it. The question is, why is He allowing it? The truth is that what the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good. So, the things that the enemy has brought into your life for evil, God is smiling because God already knows that the same thing will work out for your good in the Name of Jesus.

Matthew 10:^30-31 “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” This always blows me away. Note that the Bible did not say the hairs on your head are counted. If it is counted, that is a phenomenal fit because the hair on everybody’s head is different. Yet, God numbers everybody’s hair.

Prayer: Father, in the Name of Jesus, the lines have fallen to me in pleasant places, yes, I have a good inheritance. Amen!
