Everything!

Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes EVERYTHING to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (emphasis added).

Today, I am going to share an experience with you that brings this scripture to life. And I pray that even as you read my story, God will speak to you in unforgettable ways that only He can. My work requires a lot of studying. So, I was in this very nice library one day, focused and studying. Do you know that groove you get into when you are studying? Yes, I was getting into my groove and then suddenly, I heard a familiar sound. I could not believe my ears because of how loud it was, but somebody just farted beside me. I looked up and it was a very pretty, Chinese lady. Now, I have nothing but love for Chinese people and every human being. But this pretty, Chinese woman’s fart was really loud.

There is this feeling you get when somebody farts beside you. You cannot help but feel like all the air around you at that point is contaminated. I was so uncomfortable, but I was careful not to embarrass the lady. I didn’t get up abruptly and stomped off. I just waited a few seconds, I got up slowly, and I walked away to get some much-needed fresh air. After a while, I went back, sat down, and continued reading. I kid you not, this lady farted again, and it was just as loud. She did not even care. At that point, I was like, “No, this is wrong!” This is an abuse. I feel triggered, to borrow Gen-Z speak. I don’t identify with that fart. Again, not wanting to embarrass her, I stayed calm, closed my laptop, carried my bag, and went somewhere else.

I considered reporting her to the librarian. I considered confronting her and telling her to have more decorum. However, I resolved to find another place and continue my studying. The new place I found wasn’t as nice as where I was, but I continued my studying and my work in peace. I was working on deep neural networks, and some diagrams I had drawn were open. Then a man who was talking to someone else saw my work, saw what I was doing and came to me. We got talking and he introduced himself. This man in Tech in the U.S is a juggernaut, a Tech giant.  And he was so nice, you would never know it was him. He was wearing a T-shirt and carrying his books. He gave me his contact; he said he was amazed at my depth of understanding.

The point is that it was someone’s fart disturbing me that made me relocate, which led me to that divine connection. Sometimes, we think we have been treated fairly. Listen, everything is going to work out for your good. The same experience the enemy meant to use to distort my studying, God worked it out for my good. God will cause everything to work in your favour.

Prayer: Father, I know You are causing all things to work together for my good, in Jesus Name. Amen!
