Rhythm

Ecclesiastes 8:5 “…the wise heart will figure out the proper time and proper way to proceed.” (The Voice)

There are a couple of elements in music. Some people categorize these elements as five, some categorize them as twelve, and some stretch it to fourteen. But we will look at seven because the others are usually a representation or subsets. The first of the seven elements of music we will look at is Melody. The main tune that is played throughout the piece is the melody. We usually remember music by the melody. Next, Harmony is the simultaneous sounding of two or more notes or a chordal arrangement. Rhythm is the beat that keeps the piece on the right timing, moving forward. The timing and duration of notes and rests.

Then you have Texture, the ways in which music parts and voices are combined and layered. Next is Timbre, which is the distinctive tone colour or character of sound. The quality of the sound. Form is the structure and organization of a musical piece. Then you have the Dynamics, which is the volume of the music. Loud and soft. Also includes accents, crescendos, and decrescendos. These seven different elements of music all have to work together for the music to make sense, and every part is important. I watched the interview of a legendary Jazz musician years ago, after which I did some research, and everything he said was in tandem. The interviewer asked him, what is the most important part in music – is it the quality of the tones, the combination of the scales, or the progression of the music?

The man responded and said the most important part is the Rhythm. And I thought about it that while all the parts are important, timing is the most important. Timing is so important and, in our lives, also, timing is so important. And my prayer for you is that your timing will be accurate in the Name of Jesus. I pray that you will not walk around with two left legs. You will walk in at the right time. You will meet the right person at the right time. You will say the right things at the right time. You will get the right things done at the right time in the Name of Jesus. This is so powerful. Ecclesiastes 8:6-7There is a right time and a right way to do everything, but we know so little! None of us knows what is going to happen, and there is no one to tell us.” (GNT).

We need the help of God. We need to be in sync with God. In your schooling, marriage, locations, and retirement, you will have the right timing in Jesus Name. The key to having the right timing is how you engage. If you don’t engage at the right sequence of time, your timing will be off. You need to learn to engage the right sequence of timing to be in sync with the right timing.

Prayer: Father, please give me a wise heart that is in sync with Yours, in Jesus Name. Amen!
