You Matter To Your Biological Family

‘…He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children…’ Gen.50:20 -21

Joseph in addition to serving his generation served his biological family. You matter to your biological family. You matter to your parents, siblings, step father and mother, cousins, spouse, and to your children. You matter. God has put you in your biological family for a purpose. One of such purposes could be the salvation of the souls. Your purpose in your family may just be to preach Jesus to the people in that family who are not saved yet. If you are saved and there are people in your family that do not know Jesus, it is your duty to bring them to Christ Jesus. It might be your parents you need to reach out to, or your spouse, or your cousins who were your partners in crime in the past. Except you do not believe in Heaven and hell. Perhaps you do not believe that if they die today without accepting Jesus, they are going to hell. Their good heart or good deeds alone cannot save their lives. You cannot remain comfortable with seeing them without Jesus in their lives. If you think it is alright to just let it be then something is wrong with that picture. It is your duty to make sure that you reach out to the people in your biological family. I believe that Jesus is real, I believe that Heaven is real, I also believe that hell is real. I believe that if people die without Christ they are going to hell. And I believe that if you love the people in your life, it is your duty to reach out to them. Otherwise you are selfish and you will be shocked at what will be brought before you on your account when you stand before God. Do not let their response to your witness deter you. Keep at it because your own input matters. You may not be the one to lead then to Christ but you have to do your part [1 Cor.3:6]. You matter to your biological family. As a parent you matter to your children. The example you put before them is critical. They are watching you and this is what they will do. You matter to your spouse. Even if your spouse says they can do without you, they are lying. You matter.

Prayer: Lord, I ask that You will open my eyes to the work You have called me to do in my family. To serve them and win souls for Christ Jesus according to Your will, in Jesus Name.
