Debunking Lies I
‘But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners’ Rom.5:8
On the path to discovering your importance in God’s plan, the enemy will tell you a lot of lies. All the lies are aimed at convincing You that You do not matter to God. Anyone who has walked with God long enough knows that the devil is a lair. If you do not know anything about the devil, know that he is a lair. If he tells you that you will fail, it is a lie, because you will succeed. In fact, Jesus says that when he is lying it is his natural tongue. There are a couple of lies that he brings our way to make us feel irrelevant. Before we get into dealing with them over the next few days, never lose sight of the truth that you matter to God.
Lie #1: God is not interested in people like you. This is the first in the series of lies the enemy will throw your way. Repeatedly the enemy will say to you don’t even bother God is not interested in people like you. You, bad boy/girl, of what interest will you be to God. Everyone is talking about serving in Church and you too are picking up a form. The devil will work very hard to discredit you. He will work hard to convince you that God cannot be interested in people like you. The enemy will go to lengths to point you to examples of people in church who are living righteously. All in the bid to discourage you completely. Let the number one response on your lips be, the devil is a lair. The truth is that God is very interested in people like you. ‘But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to Him’ Rom.5:8 [MSG]. Even if as believers we have transgressed ensure that you go to God first. ‘But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness’ 1John 1:9. The K.J.V says, ‘to cleanse us from all unrighteousness’. You matter so much to God that He has already set up an additional plan to cover the mistakes that you might make. So when the enemy comes to you with this lie, say to him the devil is a lair.
Prayer: Father, thank You for removing the enemy’s lies from my path to discovering my importance in Your plan for me, in Jesus Name.
