You Matter To Your Church Family
‘Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where He wants it’ 1Cor.12:14&18.
‘The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ’ 1Cor.12:12. The Church is a body. There is a part you have to play. A role that God has carved out for you. That part of the puzzle specially designed for your piece to plug into. If you refuse to plug in, the puzzle remains incomplete. The more we can get people to plug into the purposes of God, the stronger the collective impact on the community. None of us is as anointed as all of us. No matter how big your anointing is when the little anointing of your neighbor is added to your own, it will still be more than yours alone. None of us is as strong as all of us. ‘He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love’ Eph.4:16. Doing your part [your calling], helps the whole body grow. What is your part in this body? What is your contribution? What are you bringing to the table? It cannot be your fork and knife alone. You cannot only be a taker. You have to be a giver also. ‘All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it’ 1Cor.12:27. God’s design was not for the Church to function as just one part only. ‘And if the ear says, I am not part of the body because I am not an eye, would that make it any less a part of the body? If the whole body were an eye, how would you hear? Or if your whole body were an ear, how would you smell anything?’ 1Cor.12:16-17. If the whole Church consisted of just the Pastors, who would they be shepherding? This is also the same for our spiritual gifts. God has placed it in you for the benefit of the entire Church. ‘There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us’ 1Cor.12:5-6. There is something God has put in you and you need to bring it to the table. You matter to the body of Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, direct me on how to better deploy my spiritual gifts, heart, ability, personality and experiences in the Church for the benefit and growth of the body of Christ, in Jesus Name.
